A workmate told me stories of their experiences surviving the typhoon. After the typhoon, you'll see bodies on the streets. Help cant come down since there's nowhere to land. So she'd still see bodies on the streets after 2-3 days.

Further south of Tacloban was not safe, the storm surge would have swamped where I was going to stay and likely killed me. Besides the story was in Tacloban.

Fellow Floridian here. Since I was a little kid that would stand out in lightning storms watching the awe and majesty of storms (of course my parents didn't know), I have always been fascinated by all weather phenomenons. Now as an adult, I work in disaster response. This is my first time watching a documentary about a typhoon and I can say that this should have been one that won awards. I hope that you are safe and doing well now. I wish I could join you one of your expeditions! 🌀 ❄️ 🌪 🌊 🌩 🙏🏾

Weather channels reported Tampa, they aways yell Tampa! Charley destroyed Charlotte Harbor. It was so strong, it sucked all the water out of the harbor. It was wild! The channels did the same thing during Ian. I have learned that with the weather channels say Tampa, its hitting Charlotte Harbor area again.

Thank you for sharing. We were a little north of you in Green Turtle Cay and just ran across your video. Green Turtle didn’t get the eye but it was still pretty devastating here. A lot of tornadoes were spawned out of the hurricane and many lost entire homes and most people had a lot of devastation. Five years later we are still rebuilding and praying we will never see a Category 5 hurricane again.

I believe this was the storm that was suppose to hit the tampa area...everyone had resolved to the fact ...but at the last moment it changed route and hit Punta Gorda...I knew a pastor medium that had earlier told us she didnt see a hurricane hitting tampa...?? As much as I admired her I figured she got this one wrong....but at the last moment we were saved...

ironically, before moving to south florida, i had done a few in-progress and post-hurricane search and rescue / swift water evac missions as a civilian helping out locals EMS. the hurricanes are bad but what people often overlook is the tornadoes a hurricane will spin off. that’s the only thing about hurricanes that truly scares me, particularly at night when you can’t see funnel clouds or debris, power is out, cell coverage is spotty, and you are exposed. you feel very insignificant.
